Armand Girard is a seasoned biopharmaceutical executive with experience in strategic planning, corporate development, and business development. Prior to joining Elion, he was the Chief Business Officer (CBO) at Venatorx Pharmaceuticals where he was responsible for corporate strategy, partnering, and managing the company’s corporate and institutional alliances, including the recent license to Basilea and the oversight of government contracts with BARDA. Previously, he held the CBO position at GlycoMimetics, Inc. and senior leadership positions at Shire Pharmaceuticals where he was responsible for identifying, evaluating, executing, and managing transactions that bolstered the rare disease pipeline. Of note, Armand played a leading role in the acquisition of Transkaryotic Therapies (now the foundation of Takeda’s Rare Disease Business Unit). Armand received his undergraduate degree from Lehigh University and his M.B.A, from St Joseph’s Haub School of Business Executive Pharmaceutical Marketing Program.
