Shawn Flanagan is the head of clinical pharmacology and translational development at Elion Therapeutics. A highly accomplished drug developer with broad expertise and over 30 years of drug experience in Biotech and Pharma, Dr. Flanagan has creatively advanced multiple therapeutics from pre-IND through post NDA approval and has presented at three FDA Advisory Committee meetings. Most recently, he was responsible for the clinical pharmacology and pharmacokinetics of the antifungal rezafungin, which was approved in 2023, and led the clinical development of a novel influenza prevention therapy from IND through proof of concept at Cidara Therapeutics. He has a BA in Biology from California State University Fullerton, and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry: Pharmaceutics from the University of California, San Francisco.
